Afghan Cricketers Win Fourth Victory in ICC Men’s 2023 World Cup

Afghanistan beat the Netherlands by 7 wickets, securing its fourth victory in the ICC Men’s 2023 World Cup.

The match was held in Lucknow, India.

The Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat first. It put a 180 runs target in 46.3 overs.

Team Afghanistan chased the target in 31.1 overs.

Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi and Rahmat Shah hit a half century each.

Shahidi remained not out at 56 runs off 64 balls, while Shah was out by Saqib Zulfaqar at 52 runs off 54 balls.

Mohammad Nabi become player of the match between Afghanistan and the Netherlands.

Nabi took 3 wickets for 28 runs.

Team Afghanistan also beat former champion England by 69 runs; Pakistan by 8 wickets and Sri Lanka by 7 wickets.

With four wins Afghanistan also has raised its hopes to reach the semi finals.

Afghanistan will face Australia on Tuesday and South Africa on Friday.
