OCHA Called the Islamic Emirate to Reopen Schools for Girls

The Organization for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid of the United Nations (OCHA) reiterate the call for secondary schools for girls to be reopened in Afghanistan.

In a message on the occasion of World Teacher’s Day, OCHA said that education is a basic human right and the foundation of a developed society.

“Education is a basic human right and the foundation of a flourishing and developed society. On this World Teachers Day, we pay tribute to the teachers in Afghanistan and reiterate the call for secondary schools for girls to be reopened”, OCHA said.

Meanwhile, the former president, Hamid Karzai, In a message on the occasion of World Teachers Day asked the Islamic Emirate to open schools and universities for girls as soon as possible.

It should be noted that the Islamic Emirate has suspended the education of girls above the sixth grade. Islamic Emirate Officials say that girls will be allowed to study and train, after providing a suitable environment.
